FotoFest x Ahuriri — 28 Sept-22 Oct
📸 This year marks a milestone for Ahuriri: for the first time, our suburb is part of FotoFest Hawke's Bay, the region's self-guided photography festival, now in its fifth year. Having grown from Hastings to Havelock North and Napier, FotoFest is expanding into Ahuriri for 2026 — and we couldn't be more excited.
Running 28 September – 22 October, the festival will showcase nine photographers across venues throughout Ahuriri, alongside a standout outdoor installation at Mackersey Village Green (behind the Crown Hotel and The Globe Theatrette), featuring a container installation by Annabel Taylor.
Ahuriri's inclusion in FotoFest is proudly sponsored by Napier Port, reflecting the strong partnership between our port and precinct communities.
Where to see it in Ahuriri:
Little & Fox
Beattie & Forbes Bookshop
Bazaar Boutique
The Village Florist
Red Peach Gallery
Ahuriri Pharmacy
The Boardwalk Beach Bar & Bistro
Casa Ahuriri
Plus a wall installation outside Whale Tale Antiques and an outdoor installation at the Mackersey Village Green.
FotoFest is a region-wide celebration, with exhibitions, photographer talks and workshops happening right across Hawke's Bay throughout the festival. Head to fotofest.nz to explore the full programme, discover the stories behind each photographer's work, and find workshops you can get along to.
This is just the beginning for Ahuriri's FotoFest journey — keep watching this space, as more pop-up events will be added to the line-up in the coming week, and make sure you follow us on @ahuririnz. This is a wonderful opportunity to see our suburb through a creative new lens.
