Collins St Festival Returns to Ahuriri
Saturday 29 November
Ahuriri is gearing up for another standout weekend on the summer calendar. Fresh off the Ahuriri Christmas Festival, the celebrations roll straight into the return of the Collins St Festival, bringing one of the suburb’s coolest little streets back to life with music, flavour, and sunshine.
On Saturday 29 November, Collins Street will once again transform into an open-air party from 3pm to 10pm. With its coastal character, converted warehouses, boutique businesses, and relaxed energy, Ahuriri sets the perfect scene for an afternoon that rolls effortlessly into evening.
The festival’s music lineup brings a vibrant mix of grooves and high-energy performance. Sola Rosa (DJ Set) leads the way, delivering the project’s signature blend of funk, soul, and electronic warmth. Making their Hawke’s Bay debut, Yurt Party bring an infectious fusion of Balkan, Latin, and Dub, while the legendary Tropical Downbeat Orchestra return with their big grooves and irresistible, dance-ready rhythms. Keeping the momentum going throughout the day, Bitta Batta deliver Neo Soul and Afrobeat goodness, Mon Shelford brings powerful soul-funk vocals, and Yes Yes No round things out with their punchy mix of indie rock and power pop.
As always, Collins Street will be lined with food trucks serving some of Hawke’s Bay’s favourite flavours. Local beverage creators will be pouring their best, creating a relaxed, flavour-rich festival atmosphere that showcases the creative spirit of the suburb.
For those wanting to elevate the experience, VIP access offers a special slice of Ahuriri hospitality. VIP ticket holders enjoy exclusive entry to two of the neighbourhood’s signature venues — The Urban Winery and The National Distillery — both located right beside the festival. Inside, you'll find a full bar, drinks served in glassware, and beautiful, cool spaces to take a breather between sets. It’s the perfect rhythm for the day: immerse yourself in the street-side energy, step into world-class surroundings to refresh, then head straight back into the action.
The Collins Street Festival is an R18 event, making it the ideal way to celebrate the start of summer with friends, great music, and the unmistakable character of Ahuriri.
