Ahuriri Welcomes Jono Ridler’s Epic Ocean Swim

Local communities along the coast have been cheering him on, and now it’s Ahuriri’s turn.

Swimmer Jono Ridler is making his way down the coast as part of his ambitious Swim4TheOcean challenge, an incredible journey raising awareness for ocean health. As he reaches Ahuriri, locals are invited to come together and give him a huge Hawke’s Bay welcome.

Head down to Te Karaka (Perfume Point) on Tuesday 10 March from 3:30pm to 5:30pm to cheer Jono on as he arrives. Bring the whānau, bring your supporter signs, and join the community celebration as he continues his journey toward Wellington.

The afternoon will include:• A free sausage sizzle• Dipped strawberries for attendees• A live Q&A with Jono and his support crew, sharing stories from the swim and the kaupapa behind the mission

It’s a great chance to show support, meet the team behind the journey, and be part of an inspiring community moment on the Ahuriri waterfront.
